5 cool things to 3D Print

This week, we're going to explore five incredible 3D printing creations that showcase the versatility of this technology! From practical objects to fun and creative prints, the possibilities are endless. Get ready to be inspired!

  1. Durable Skateboard

This skateboard design has been around for a while. Now, the designer has updated the files to make the skateboard more durable and easier to print. The skateboard is composed of many parts, but the instructions are very detailed, so you won't be confused. Unless you want to end up with bruises, don't consider printing with PLA. The creator of this experimental project, Seb, used carbon fiber-filled PETG CF material. Be prepared to use an entire roll of material, as most of the internal infill is 80% gyroid infill. You will also need screws, nuts, and washers of various sizes.

  1. Retro TV Phone Stand

If you want to watch videos like your grandpa did, this is what you need to print. The retro TV-themed design can accommodate a smartphone with dimensions of approximately 15.3 x 7.4 x 1.4 cm (6.02 x 2.91 x 0.55 inches). Of course, you can adjust the size as needed. The phone can be charged while in use; the only thing missing is the remote control.

  1. Rotary Locking Container

Imagine a world without containers. It would be chaotic! To keep your valuables safe, clean, and organized, consider printing these containers. They are available in eight sizes, have a rectangular texture, and include a lid that snaps securely into place. These containers are also designed to be stackable, making them perfect for your home, office, or studio. PETG is the recommended printing material due to its rigidity, which is ideal for the snap mechanism.

  1. towel hook

This 3D printed towel hook is a great option if you need a quick way to hang up your towels. The designer, Andor Yoko, has improved upon his popular towel hook design. The updated design includes an improved connection area, stronger grip, and rounded corners. It only takes a few minutes to print and can be mounted with double-sided tape. If you are printing this for use in your kitchen, note that you may need to replace the print occasionally for hygiene. Print it in your material of choice on Craftcloud.

  1. Salt & Pepper

We all know from history lessons that spices were extremely expensive in the olden days; you paid $200 per 100 grams of pepper! And if you’re old enough to remember, the female rap duo Salt & Pepa even chose a short-lived cooking show, “Cookin’ with Salt-N-Pepa,” for their not-so-spicy comeback.

Speaking of salt and pepper, how about a modern twist on this classic combo? Introducing a 3D-printed salt and pepper shaker set designed to mesh together and turn as gears upon their stand! They are easy to print and fun to use. Can you pass the pepper, please?
