Since Beets started offering 3D design and printing workshops, one of our major features has been to tailor appropriate teaching content for participants and provide the most personal learning support and needs for each participant.
The learner-centered approach coincides with the educational philosophy of Dalton School in Hong Kong! This time, we are very honored to come to Dalton School and bring a learning experience that integrates technology and art to a class of fifth grade students!
Before preparing the course, we discussed with the principal the course objectives he hoped to achieve and designed the following 10-session course plan:
Section 1: A brief introduction to the digital sculpture software Nomad Sculpt and basic operations
Section 2-3: Teach students to master the various sculpting tools and functions of Nomad Sculpt
Section 4-6: Under the guidance of the instructor, students use the skills they have learned to create their own 3D models
Section 7: Demonstrate 3D printing process and operation, and let students understand different 3D printing methods and printing effects
Lessons 8-10: Teach students to use the characteristics and techniques of plastic paint to paint 3D printed models and complete their own works.
In terms of creation, we give students the greatest degree of freedom to give full play to their creativity and strengths. Students can create works based on their own topics, and they can also create their favorite works according to their own interests and hobbies.
After students have completed their 3D models, we will collect their 3D model files and arrange for them to be printed out as high-quality physical works using an industrial-grade light-curing 3D printer.
In these ten classes, not only did the students actively engage in the learning process and produce unique works with their own characteristics, but even the teachers were very interested in what we taught!
Everyone was very excited to receive their own 3D prints for the first time! The students were very enthusiastic about coloring their own works and were very satisfied with their finished products.
I would like to express my gratitude again to the students, teachers and the school for their love of this course. I hope that I will have the opportunity to explore the fun of 3D design and printing with my classmates in the classroom again in the new school year!
If any school, institution, organization or group is interested in running related courses, please refer to our on-campus classes and contact us . We will tailor a professional and interesting course for you to inspire everyone's unlimited potential!
